This is the same video that all the
touring veterans watch during their deluxe motor coach
ride from Baltimore Washington International (BWI)
Airport, en route to the WWII Memorial. The video
does an excellent job explaining the history, political
controversy, key orchestrators, symbolism, architecture
and design of the WWII Memorial. The video is also
interspersed with historical war footage and interviews
with prominent entertainment and political figures who
recount their experiences during World War II.
During out trips, the video normally concludes as we are
pulling up to the WWII Memorial. Our travelers
depart the bus well prepared to tour the largest, most
breathtaking memorial in Washington, DC. WWII

WWI Memorial "Jewel of the Mall" Book
There are several reasons why we have
given WWII Memorial, "Jewel of the Mall" to
hundreds of WWII Veterans who have participated in a
Honor Flight. The stunning memorial photographs by
renowned photographer Stephen R. Brown fill entire
pages. Large type print facilitates easy reading
for WWII Veterans. Beautiful twilight and night
time photographs display the softer, glowing side of the
memorial that our daytime travelers never get to see.
Panoramic scenes comprise seventy-five pages of the
book. The other fifteen pages provide a pictorial
construction history and behind-the-scenes images that
lend an even deeper appreciation of America's salute to
"The Greatest Generation". Former Kansas Senator
Bob Dole wrote the Introduction. His comments lead
the portraits of the veterans who inspired passage of
Memorial legislation. Also featured are the
architect, sculptor and stone carvers whose imagination
and craftsmanship created out nation's "Thank You" to
the men and women who collectively and literally saved
the world.
For a donation of $25.00, we will send
you the "Jewel of the Mall" Book.
