Even though that means hitting the road again this week to keep their latest postseason running forward, the San Francisco 49ers are all for a rematch against the Panthers,
"Onward now," said by the coach Jim Harbaugh.
The Panthers broke the Niners' five-game winning streak by cutting down San Francisco and quarterback Colin Kaepernick 10-9 at Candlestick Park on Nov. 10. For the following week, the 49ers lost at New Orleans for their second two-game skid of the season, but have been on an impressive unbeaten roll in seven games since then after a 23-20 wild-card win Sunday at freezing Green Bay.
Now, the 49ers (13-4) gain a second chance at Cam Newton and Co. in the NFC divisional playoffs Sunday. And at present, they get a playmaking and healthy Michael Crabtree in the receiving squads.
"We owe 'em." Kaepernick said this on Carolina with his normal and true nature.
"Rematch against Carolina next week." the rookie linebacker Nick Moody added on Twitter
Both Kaepernick and quarterback Newton form Panthers who was drafted No. 1 overall in 2011 whhen Kaepernick was the sixth QB selected will wish to have more great games and performances on the postseason stage.
The Niners wanted Kaepernick’s every ounce out to go thqough Green Bay for the fourth straight time and second playoff victory in as many Januarys.
"I believe we have set up that we've got a good bad-weather quarterback" Harbaugh said on Monday. "who is able to throw a ball to pierce through the elements, the wind. As He has shown that in the rain, bad weather, footing, or elements of precipitation. I trust he can pierce a defense with velocity and tightness of the spiral."
For the tattooed quarterback, there is no sleeve necessary while playing in subzero temperatures, a Wisconsin native to the bone.
Kaepernick's 11-yard run on third-and-8 set up Phil Dawson's winning 33-yard field goal as time expired at Lambeau Field.
The 49ers lost a couple of key soldiers on either side of the ball to concussions in the last game against Carolina, the rookie safety Eric Reid and tight end Vernon Davis.
And Kaepernick has gone through a long way since that loss two months ago that followed the bye week.
"He is a tough man, and a quarterback like that you are willing to do everything for him," said running back Frank Gore.
The Crabtree’s return surely helps the team. The team's top wideout from 2012 returned for the final five games of the regular season after recovering from a torn right Achilles tendon that required surgery in May.
"It is more dangerous," said Harbaugh. “For that game, Michael Crabtree was absent and Vernon was away from the game early with a concussion."
